Custom Templates

Use your own product photos as mockup templates

What Are Custom Templates?

Custom templates let you upload your own product photos and turn them into reusable mockup templates. This is perfect if you have specific products, your own flat lay photos, or room scenes that aren't in our library.

Once saved, your custom templates appear alongside the regular templates in the Generator and Library — so you can use them to bulk-generate mockups just like any other template.

How to Create a Custom Template

1

Upload Your Product Photo

Go to Dashboard → Custom Template and upload a photo of your product. This could be:

  • A flat lay of your t-shirt, hoodie, or tote bag
  • A photo of your shop or display area
  • A room scene with frames on the wall
  • A product photo from your supplier
  • An AI-generated scene (from Flux, Midjourney, etc.)

Tip: Use high-resolution images (at least 2000px wide) for the best mockup quality.

2

Draw Your Design Zones

Click and drag on the image to draw a rectangle where your design should be placed. The blue rectangle represents the area where customer artwork will appear in the mockup.

  • Single zone: Draw one rectangle for a single product (e.g., the chest area of a t-shirt)
  • Multiple zones: Click "+ Add Zone" to add more zones (e.g., 3 frames on a gallery wall)
  • Reposition: Click and drag a zone to move it
  • Delete: Click the X next to a zone in the settings panel

You can add up to 50 design zones per template.

3

Add Template Details

Fill in the settings on the right panel:

  • Template Name: Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "White Gildan 5000 Flat Lay")
  • Product Type: Flat Lay, Room Scene, Lifestyle, Print, Digital, or Packaging
  • Category: e.g., t_shirt, mug, poster, hoodie
  • Product Colour: e.g., white, black, navy (helps with filtering)
4

Save & Use

Click "Save Custom Template" and you're done. Your template is now available in:

  • The Generator — select it alongside other templates to bulk-generate mockups
  • The Template Library — browse and filter your custom templates

Great Use Cases

Your Own Product Photos

Photograph your actual products (t-shirts, mugs, bags) and create templates that match exactly what customers will receive.

Supplier Product Shots

Use product images from your supplier (AS Colour, Gildan, etc.) to create mockups in the exact colours and styles you sell.

Shop & Display Scenes

Take photos of your retail space, market stall, or display setup. Place your designs in real-world contexts.

AI-Generated Scenes

Generate custom scenes with AI tools (Flux, Midjourney) and use them as templates. Perfect for unique, branded mockups.

Tips for Best Results

  • High resolution: Use images at least 2000px wide for sharp mockups
  • Flat angles: Top-down or straight-on photos work best (perspective warping coming soon)
  • Clear product area: The product surface should be clearly visible and unobstructed
  • Good lighting: Even, neutral lighting helps designs blend naturally
  • Blank products: Plain/blank products give the cleanest mockups — no existing graphics to compete with your designs
